Spirit Seekers
I was part of a group who's job was to create an app that would help people looking for a spiritual pilgrimage. We were in charge of researching our audience, designing, prototyping, testing and presenting our app. The app was named Spirit Seekers and features several different common and uncommon pilgrimage sites. Features of the app include the ability to search for sites, save them, find sites near you using a GPS map, navigate to your destination and find necessary stops along the way such as food and gas. The goal was to create a one-stop-shop for people looking to take a meaningful trip. See the full process of the project here.
Odyssey
I worked with a partner to help North Lawndale College Prep (NLCP) come up with new ways to encourage current teachers to continue to work at the school. My partner and I researched the target audience and that there was a disconnect between teachers and parents. Our solution involved an app that was meant to encourage the NLCP community of both teachers and parents to open a more direct line of communication. This allowed the parents to give the teachers the support they needed and it allowed the teachers to have an easier way to communicate with the parents of students that needed a little extra help. Our rough prototype was used to showcase the different features of the app and how teachers of NLCP could use it to connect with each other and the parents of the North Lawndale community. I have included the sitemap as well as sketches and the low-fidelity prototype for this project below.
Atlantis Redesign
For one of my classes, I chose to redesign the website for the Atlantis Hotel and Waterpark in Wisconsin Dells. My goal with the redesign was to improve User Experience by making the design more clean and streamlined with less confusion as to how to do things like book rooms and find activities. While researching, I identified my target audience as being mostly parents of young kids. This insight, as well as my other research and wireframes, informed my design decisions. The final product was a minimalistic website with a straightforward navigational system to allow for busy parents to clearly and quickly see activities and book rooms on the site. Below I have included the sitemap of the original site along with my original prototype.
Belair Cantina Resdesign
I was asked to redesign a website for one of my class assignments. I chose to redesign Belair Cantina's website. My goal with the redesign was to streamline the design and bring a more vibrant personality to the website. When researching my audience, I found that there was a wide variety of people who ate at the restaurant. This insight, along with the rest of my research, encouraged me to create clear and simple navigation while keeping the vibrant feel that the restaurant already has amongst their guests. I have included the wireframes and the style tiles of this project below.
